Michele Snyder-Willis, Clinical Trials/Research Nurse

Michele Snyder-Willis, RN, BSN, CCRP attended Bowling Green State University and the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, receiving her BSN in 1994. Initially, she worked as an inpatient nurse on the bone marrow transplant floor. She launched her oncology career at a medical regional center in Florence, SC where she was an inpatient nurse in oncology and then a night shift supervisor on the floor. She joined Lake Health/University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center in March 2003. Currently, she is a Certified Clinical Research Professional and is active in the Society of Clinical Research Associates.

Michele is a native of Ohio. She was born in Warren but lived in a small town called Leetonia, where her parents still reside. She has one very active son who keeps her busy with swimming (he swims for the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins) and Boy Scouts. She married her husband Michael in 2006 and added three step children, Devan, Logan, and Avery, all of whom go to school in Mentor. Michele and her family are members of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor. Her hobbies include trying to learn the game of golf, training for her first try at a 5K and being a chauffeur to her children.

Michele found her passion for oncology nursing while in nursing school. She cared for a patient who was dying of cancer and was all alone. The hours she spent caring for this patient, listening to her stories and finally holding her hand when she took her last breath, made Michele realize her love of this profession. She also lost her favorite grandfather and aunt to cancer. Michele strongly believes that research is the key to finding better treatments.

Fundraising efforts throughout the year help LH/UH Seidman Cancer Center continue to carry out our mission to provide world-class cancer care and oncology services to residents within driving distance of Mentor and Lake County.
