Online, the American Cancer Society has a great website that discusses some of the basics of cancer such as what cancer is, what some of the signs and symptoms are, and how many individuals are affected by it.

You can also visit the National Cancer Institute for information on cancer as well. They have areas that describe what cancer is, common cancer types, coping with cancer, and much more.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology recommends www.cancer.net for patient-centered information about cancer.

Another good resource is the U.S. National Library of Medicine website.
